Ballet
1st grade and up: A wonderful class for all students and especially essential to all those looking at a career in dance! Ballet teaches coordination and confidence while improving grace and balance. Advanced students will be learning pointe and pas de deux work.
Tap
1st grade and up: Tap classes teach rhythm and musicality to upbeat, popular music and cover steps such as "shuffle off to buffalo", maxiford, riffs and time steps.
Jazz/Hip hop
1st grade and up: Our most popular form of dance, using your favorite music to create a high energy class! We cover the latest hip hop moves from L.A. and New York and also introduce Broadway music and musical theatre style jazz.
Funk
1st grade and up: This funk class explores movement without jazz technique. This class will include athletic movements, teaching the dancers how to move on the floor. This class will allow students to dance freestyle and learn how to be creative with their own choreography.
Modern
Modern dance is its own style and technique that explores the use of weight, release of energy, fall and recovery, and musicality. Modern dance is a dance technique that was created by dance pioneers who wanted to explore their own ideas and break free of the ballet tradition.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques. It has its primary basis in ballet, combining the many technical elements of classical ballet with the freedom and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance. Lyrical dance is expressive, focused on conveying musicality and emotion through movement.
Young Dancer Program — up to Kindergarten
• 45 minute Class — $55/month

The Dance Factory Young Dancer Program provides an introduction to the world of dance and music. All classes are designed to introduce creative movement exercises and steps that foster body coordination, rhythmic awareness, and a path to explore their own imagination.
2½ yr Creative Movement: A special class is designed to teach your child creative movement dances and how to follow basic directions in a dance class without mom.
3yr Ballet/Tumbling: This class includes stretches and basic ballet steps, several fun dances and a portion of the class designed to learn simple tumbling movements (i.e., forward roll or crab walk)
4-5 yr Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Combo Classes: Our 4-5 year olds will learn basic ballet, tap, and or jazz steps. They will learn how to move across the floor and dances that are creative and fun.
Kindergarten Ballet, Tap, Jazz & Combo Classes: The dancers in our Kindergarten Tap and Ballet classes will begin more challenging steps and positions. The Ballet portion of their class will begin training at the ballet barre. Our Kindergarten Jazz dancers will learn an energetic Jazz warm-up and simple Jazz steps.

Students become familiar with correct position and placement and begin to learn the vocabulary specific to the discipline. Each level within this program builds on skills and techniques. Students are placed according to ability.
Classes offered in the Beginner Program include Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Funk.

The Dance Factory Boys Only Dance Program classes are designed specifically with boys in mind. We offer high energy and the non-stop action that boys need and want. This class is fun, exciting and uses rhythmic music that the boys can move to. The dance moves improve hand, eye, and foot coordination.

It is a curriculum-based program designed for the dedicated dance student. Students are placed in one of three levels based on experience, technique, and skill, each with its own set of core classes. Students are required to take a minimum number of classes per week including ballet classes. Students must comply with the course requirements specific to each level. Special programs related to musical theater, choreography, performance, and auditions will be offered throughout the year to enhance the experience.
Tuition caps will be established for dancers taking 5 or more classes per week.

Dance Factory Performance Opportunities
Our dance programs are performance-based rather than competition-based. In addition to our holiday observation programs in December and our recital in June, we offer two additional opportunities for our dancers to perform: The Dance Factory Tour Team and The Showstopper Dance Company.
We encourage our dancers who have shown great potential in their dancing abilities along with a strong work ethic and a desire to reach to the next level in their dancing and performing to audition for Tour Team and the Showstopper Dance Company. Auditioning for these groups will encourage growth as a dancer, charisma as a performer and confidence as an individual.
The Showstopper Dance Company is a team of high-caliber, well-respected performers in 3rd grade and up. Showstoppers perform in all recital shows! We hold auditions for Jazz and Tap teams. Dancers may audition for both Tap and Jazz and participate in both if chosen.
The Dance Factory Tour Team is group of dancers in 3rd grade and up that rehearses and performs during the summer months and in December for the holidays. We offer two summer opportunities and one December opportunity. Our Summer Teams rehearse for one week and perform at local Nursing Homes, the VA Hospital and at a Somerset Patriots Game! In December we perform at local Nursing homes and the VA hospital. Dancers must audition or be recommended by an instructor. We offer Tap, Jazz, and Ballet auditions.
