Love Is In The Air at The Dance Factory!

This summer the Dance Factory increased their community outreach efforts by adding a second full week to their Tour Team program.  Over 50 dancers from age 5 to 16 learned a wonderful 20-minute, non-stop, Love-Themed song and dance routine choreographed by director Kelly Markowski and teacher Dawn VanNess.  For each week of the program, the dancers rehearsed four full days and then performed on the fifth day.  The Dance Factory rented a bus for each performance day and the dancers visited nursing homes, senior centers and assisted living homes throughout Somerset County.  “Our goal for the Tour Team is to bring smiles and joy to the many seniors we perform for at the centers.  It is a wonderful experience for our dancers and the residents we visit.” said Kelly Markowski.  “We love what we do and it shows.”

In addition to the 9 senior citizen facilities, the girls danced at the Somerset County 4H Fair, the Princeton Elks Club and two Somerset Patriot Games.  Pam McDermott owner of the Dance Factory stated, “As a small business owner in Montgomery Township/Somerset County, we feel it is important to reach out and support our community.  Giving back is an important part of what The Dance Factory is about.”
